Forming a low-growing, dense, cold tolerant turf, Smooth Stalked Meadow Grass thrives in cooler, temperate climates and persists well in areas with warm, humid summers. Spreading by tillers and rhizomes, it provide strength and durability for both turf production and sports turf. The subsurface rhizomes also provide a carbohydrate reserve for recovery from drought stress and dormancy. Smooth Stalked Meadow Grass mixes well with improved perennial ryegrass and tall fescue for many other turf uses. It also combines well with fine fescues for improved shade adaptation.
